Environmentally oriented tours are a great way to expose
children to nature and reinforce what they have learned in
school during the past year, not to mention it's fun for kids
and adults. We offer a variety of tours for people of all
ages and are very flexible as far as activity, location, and
pricing. All tours last approximately 2 hours and include
a brief lesson on paddle strokes, life jackets, paddles, kayaks,
all necessary equipment and usually a game or two at your
request.
Our tours can accommodate groups of up to 20 participants
on the water at a time! Larger groups will be broken into
two or more sessions. Children 7 and younger paddle
free in an adult's kayak!
Our fleet is comprised of the following boats:
Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T (3), Tarpon 100 (4), Pamlico
140 (2), Oldtown Tandem (1), Oldtown Guide (4), Perception
Sundance 12.0 (3).
If we already have a tour
at a location and you would like to meet us to paddle or rent
before or afterwards, we will give you a tremendous discount
and remove our minimum charge since we don't have
to travel anywhere to do your tour. We do require a 50% deposit for all tours. It is non-refundable
unless the trip is cancelled due to us or the weather. We
generally paddle in all weather except raging storms and
lightning.
Below are some of our more
popular trips and you can click
HERE for a spreadsheet with details about these
excursions.
Salt marsh
Join us as we explore the many facets of Assateague's salt
marshes. Explore the open water and channels while enjoying
our native wildlife and the sights and sounds that make the
bay so beautiful.
Adults $30 Children 8-15
$25...Minimum charge: $300
Sunset Paddle
There is nothing more beautiful than a sunset over the water...
Unless you are on the water with the sun's fading rays. Join
us in closing out the evening sun as we paddle your choice
of location for a relaxing end to the day. If paddling
on Silver Lake in Dover, Delaware and not part of our already
scheduled trips, the minimum charge is $200.
Adults $30 Children 8-15

Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge
This is the perfect fall trip. We start at the state access
area and paddle through narrow creeks surrounded by
dragonflies and migrating birds, ducks, and other waterfowl.
High grasses, reeds, flowers, and trees eventually surround
you as we hop between creeks and ponds. If you are lucky, you
may see the occasional water snake (they don’t want in the
kayaks any more than you want them in there). This is
definitely not a trip to be missed.
Adults $30 Children 8-15 $25...Minimum charge: $300
Point Lookout State Park: This is one of our favorite
paddles. Lake Conoy and the Potomac River here offer an amazing
opportunity to learn about salt marshes, osprey, bald
eagles, heron, muskrat,
pelicans, cormorant, and more! By far one of the most educational
and fun kayaking experiences you will ever partake in.
Ages 8 and up: $35...Minimum Charge $500
Tuckahoe Lake/River/Creek
This paddle just begs for exploration since we'll put in at
the lake and you can decide whether we head up or down river.
Heading up the river is lush greenery and only farmland and
the state park. There is plenty of mud to play in, wildlife
to observe, and wetlands to discuss. Among the wildlife you
will see are watersnakes, turtles, herons, eagles, the pileated
woodpecker, redtailed hawks, and deer.
Ages 8 and up: $25 upriver/
$30 downriver...Minimum charge: $300 upriver/$350 downriver
Fishing Creek Wildlife Area
Matched in natural diversity only by Wye Island, this paddle
is sure to please everyone. The refuge contains 35 species
of reptiles and amphibians, deer, foxes, otters, raccoons,
250 bird species, and three recovering species: the Delmarva
fox squirrel, peregrine falcon, and the American bald eagle.
There are also numerous side trips to make in the salt marshes.
The perfect all-day paddle or short paddle, depending on your
tastes.
